http://seedsofjoyfoundation.com/index.html : This link will take you to an organization known as The Seeds Of Joy Foundation. On this site, you will find and excellent book that I am in the middle of reading. It can be downloaded directly from the Internet and is written by an advanced Kidney Cancer survivor who took his health into his own hands. It is a book entitled Cancer Wars, the MARRS Journey and it is a true discussion of the power of the human mind. This gentleman, who has an engineering background and writes in a very clear and concise manner, describes his journey into the power of guided imagery and visualization techniques. I have been trying them myself and they require a lot of discipline and energy.  This is a very inspirational book and a relatively short read. I highly recommend it.

When you get an advanced cancer diagnosis like this, after the anger and initial shock wears off, one often asks "why"? I know I did that very first day and continue to do so. I consider myself a person of faith, but I must admit my faith is in question right now. We have a lot of things to do together - my mom, my sister, me - and our families. I'm not ready to hear information like this. The book "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Harold Kushner has been recommended. Once the coordination of the medical people who should be taking care of my mom is done, this is the first book on my reading list.
